Reward your voters
CubeVote uses Votifier, the standard protocol of Minecraft directories. In practice: on every vote, the site drops the information straight onto your server, and the reward plugin you already use does the rest.
Nothing to install if you already get votes elsewhere. If your server is listed on another directory, NuVotifier and your rewards are already in place. All that's left is pasting a token: allow two minutes.
Setup
- 1
Install NuVotifier, if you haven't already
Download NuVotifier from SpigotMC, drop the file into
plugins/, then restart the server. It runs on Bukkit, Spigot, Paper, Purpur and their forks, from Minecraft 1.8 to the current versions. On first start, it creates
plugins/Votifier/config.ymland picks port8192. - 2
Open the Votifier port
Port
8192must be reachable from outside, just like the game port. With a Minecraft host, you can usually open it from the panel, or ask support. You can check from any machine:
telnet your-server.com 8192should print a line starting withVOTIFIER. - 3
Get your token
Open
plugins/Votifier/config.ymland copy the value undertokens:tokens: default: 'YOUR_TOKEN_HERE'You can also create a token just for CubeVote, so you can revoke it without touching other directories:
tokens: default: '…' cubevote.net: 'ANOTHER_TOKEN' - 4
Paste the token on CubeVote
Go to your server's management page, Votifier section. Enter the address, port and token, then save.
A test vote is sent right away: the result shows on screen, and your server console should mention the vote received. If something's wrong, the error message tells you what to fix.

Set up the rewards
That's your reward plugin's job, not CubeVote's. The most common ones:
- VotingPlugin, the most complete: crates, vote streaks, vote parties, leaderboards.
- SuperbVote, light and easy to set up, ideal for simple commands.
- VoteRoulette, random rewards and loyalty tiers.
They all react to the Votifier event: your existing rewards will work with CubeVote unchanged. Only the
/votemenu needs one more entry, in the next step. - 6
Show CubeVote in /vote
The
/votemenu your players open in game only lists the sites you declare, under the exact service name each site sends. CubeVote's iscubevote.net. With VotingPlugin, inplugins/VotingPlugin/VoteSites.yml:VoteSites: CubeVote: Enabled: true Name: 'CubeVote' ServiceSite: 'cubevote.net' VoteURL: 'YOUR_VOTE_PAGE' VoteDelay: 3After a test vote,
Get my ready-made block/av servicesiteslists the names received: CubeVote should appear there under this name. Your dashboard's Your /vote section gives the block ready to paste, with your vote page already filled in, for VotingPlugin, zEssentials and SuperbVote.
Supported protocols
CubeVote detects the version your server uses automatically.
- NuVotifier (protocol v2), recommended
- Shared-token authentication and HMAC-SHA256 signature. The server confirms receipt, which lets us show a real diagnosis.
- Original Votifier (protocol v1)
- RSA encryption with the server's public key, to copy from
plugins/Votifier/rsa/public.key. Supported for servers that haven't migrated.
Without Votifier: the vote API
If you can't open a port, your server can poll CubeVote at regular intervals instead of being contacted. It's more flexible behind NAT, and just as reliable.
See the vote APIFrequently asked questions
- Do I need to install a CubeVote plugin?
- No. CubeVote speaks the Votifier protocol, the standard used by every Minecraft directory. If your server already has NuVotifier and a reward plugin, there's nothing more to install: paste a token and you're done.
- Which reward plugins work?
- All those that listen to the Votifier event: VotingPlugin, SuperbVote, VoteRoulette, VoteParty, VotingPlugin-Addons, and most crate systems. Rewards you've already set up for other directories work straight away with CubeVote.
- What if I can't open port 8192?
- Use the vote API: your server polls CubeVote instead of being contacted. It works behind a home router or a host that doesn't let you open a port.
- The player was offline when they voted: what happens?
- Your reward plugin decides. VotingPlugin and SuperbVote queue the reward and hand it over the next time the player joins; that's the default behaviour of most of them.
