Reward votes with Votifier and NuVotifier

16 September 2026 · updated on 07 October 2026 · 2 min read

A player who votes for your server pushes up your ranking. If they get something in return, they'll vote again tomorrow. Votifier is the bridge between the directory and your server: on every vote, CubeVote notifies your server, which hands out the reward.

From a vote on CubeVote to the in-game reward

Install NuVotifier

  1. Drop NuVotifier into plugins/ (on the proxy and the servers if you have a network, following its forwarding documentation).
  2. Start: it creates plugins/Votifier/config.yml and an RSA key pair.
  3. Open port 8192 over TCP in the firewall, as you did for 25565.

Connect it to CubeVote

In your CubeVote dashboard, Votifier section:

  • Host: your server's address;
  • Port: 8192;
  • Token (NuVotifier v2, recommended): the tokens.default value from config.yml, or the public key from the rsa/public.key file for protocol v1.

The test button sends a fake vote: if it arrives, everything is in place. The server tester, in full diagnosis, also checks that the Votifier port answers from outside.

No inbound port possible, for example with some hosts? Use CubeVote's vote webhook: your server receives a signed HTTPS request instead.

Choose a reward plugin

NuVotifier gives nothing by itself: it announces the vote. A plugin listens to it and rewards:

  • VotingPlugin: very complete, vote streaks, cumulative rewards, leaderboards, reminders.
  • SuperbVote: simpler, one reward per vote.

Example of a reasonable reward:

/eco give %player% 250
/crate key give %player% vote 1

Bring players back

  • Reward regularity more than the single vote: a rare key on the 7th day in a row brings more repeat votes than one big reward.
  • Remind at the right time: the detailed statistics show the hour when your players vote most.
  • Show the vote link in the MOTD, the tab list and on Discord; CubeVote's Discord bot announces every vote.

Common mistakes

  • The vote arrives but no reward: the username entered by the player doesn't match (capital letters, Bedrock player with a prefix). VotingPlugin can hold the reward until the next login.
  • "Connection refused" during the test: NuVotifier isn't loaded, or the port isn't 8192.
  • Public key pasted with its -----BEGIN lines: keep only the contents.
