Test a Minecraft server

What a player sees when they add your address: does the server answer, with which MOTD, which version and how many players. And when it doesn't, the exact reason (closed port, firewall or wrong service) so you know where to look.

With or without a port. Without one, the test follows the SRV record like the game does.

Reading the result

  • Connection refused: the machine is on, but no server listens on that port. Check server-port in server.properties.
  • No answer: most often a firewall, or missing port forwarding on the router or at the host.
  • Latency is measured from CubeVote's servers, in France: it gives a rough idea, not each player's ping.
